| This picture of the southeast end of Ionian Basin was taken from the summit of Black Giant. The top of Black Giant Pass is just visible in the lower left corner of the picture. One can descend along the chain of lakes to the north shore of Chasm Lake. Chasm Lake is below the ridge descending northeast from Charybdis which is the close peak left of center.From Chasm Lake one can go down Enchanted Gorge or work up into the western end of Ionian Basin and on to Martha Lake. |
