Just out view below is Amphitheater Lake which can be reached from the Muir trail by hiking up a long abandoned trail along Cataract Creek, starting at Deer Meadows. From Amphitheater Lake one can reach Lake Basin by crossing Cataract Creek Pass and then Dumbbell Lakes Pass (11,640'+). Across the canyon Glacier Creek drops steeply down the from lake 11,672. |
