This gully is reached after the last switchback above Mahogany Flats and shortly before reaching Anvil Camp. The gully is the main drainage route on the south east face of Mt. Keith. It was easy to cross before the cloudburst in July of 2013, but now crossing it at this point is almost impossible (and dangerous). The best crossing point is where the trail first contacts the gully. Update: the forest service has done a fantastic job of reconstructing the trail. New switchbacks have been built to reach the solid rock above the gully.
