Top of Gardiner Pass

North side of Gardiner Pass
An old abandoned trail pass by the north side of Charlotte Lake, traverses high above Charlotte Creek and then climbs very steeply (very similar to the Shepherd Pass trail climb to the saddle) up to Gardiner Pass (11,200'+). Surprisingly the top of the pass is quite heavily forested. From here the trail drops down towards Gardiner Creek and then turns up into Gardiner Basin. You can continue up to the head of Gardiner Basin and cross Sixty Lakes Col into Sixty Lakes Basin. Map.
